Poverty is clearly a relative term. Most people who live in poverty aren't surrounded by a multiperson staff who provide for his every need. Most people living in poverty don't live in a massive house. Most people living in poverty don't fly first class on private jets around the world to meet other world leaders.
He may choose not to "own" anything, but he is a long way from living in poverty.
That said, I do like how he seems to want to help the poor and urges people to do so.
