Either way sad to hear a productive member of society died too soon.
No he lived and grew up in my hometown of Warsaw, IN. He was one of my dad's best friends and lived a block away from each other.

That's the thing ALL 4 of these men were highly productive members of society
Charles Smith 71 was a city councilman and was man of the year for the county in 2001

Scott Smith 44 (son or Charles) was deputy prosecuting attorney.

Scott Bibler 51 had spent the last 25 as a football coach, and school counselor at Tippecanoe Valley High School. He left coaching just this year to do in home counseling.

Tony Elliott 54 was a real father to 4 kids and I know for sure at least 2 of them graduated from college. He traveled all over the USA and the world between sponsoring other race car drivers and selling his race car trailers.

Quote:
Elliott, one of USAC's greatest ambassadors, was a two-time USAC National Sprint Car Champion (1998 and 2000)..

A sponsor and supporter of both USAC participants and events with his company, Elliott's Custom Trailers, he was still a familiar face at many USAC racing events throughout the season, including last weekend's "4-Crown Nationals" at the Eldora Speedway
Several NASCAR drivers remembered him as..

Sad to hear the news about Tony Elliott. Such a great guy who always had a smile on his face. We had a lot of good races together

We were sorry to hear of the tragic passing of our competitor and friend, Tony Elliott, following a plane crash on Friday, Oct. 2nd. A fierce competitor on the track, he was also a father, husband, son, brother and friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Elliott family at this time. Godspeed & Rest In Peace. -- Tony Stewart Racing
