I've used my reusable bags for years, long before it turned into a legal issue with any cities, an ex got me into it. Frankly, I love it. The reusable bags work better, they hold more items, and they create less final waste. And they save $.50-1.00 at the grocery store (that's what they charge here.)
Whether or not others are using them, I can't really say, I have not paid attention.
