Flying over a war zone was a bad decision.
I spent a lot of time on flights in Europe last month and 33K ft altitude was not unusual.
That is like saying she got raped because she wore a short skirt and not because she was in a bad area
Airlines are not flying over airspace in the Middle East now where there are any hostile actions (fortunately).
