I tend to do multiple channels of business with people that I have a good relationship with. It helps eliminate these initial pains that you are going through. Unfortunately, this method doesn't work for everyone.
I have a running list now of people that I have chased just this year to give money to. It's bizarre. Some people you practically have to beg to get their service. Or call in favors. Yes, call in favors just to get someone to return a sales call.
When you run into an obstacle (other person) keep running up the chain until you cannot go any higher. The chain is not just the company they work for or own. Move above that. Find their suppliers, etc.
