consuming more calories than you expend, will cause weight gain. it doesn't matter what the source of calories is. eating 5000 calories of bacon a day or 5000 calories of pancakes and syrup a day is going to make you fat when you're only burning 2500 calories a day. conversely, you can lose weight eating only carbs or only fat.
