He was never all that successful. Like 95% of the people here he was just trying to fake it until he made it, but it makes for a better storyline to say he gave up something big. He lost his wife because of a cuckold scene that went far beyond his control, and most likely losing her was too much for his ego to bear. Donny has to try to be the star, he's the type of person that annoys me most in this world, a name dropper and wannabe reality TV type dude. He's far from the only one that comes around here though.
