The review is supposed to be a review of the product, not of the service.
A larger problem is the reviews are now a mix-mash of product reviews, Amazon specific reviews, individual merchant reviews, random brick-and-mortar business reviews, and even warranty reviews. All of these things completely skew the review process and make for a pretty ridiculous set up. I'm surprised they have not picked up on this issue yet and found a remedy.
From a merchants standpoint, it's an absolute disaster. I used to sell high ticket items on Amazon and half of my reviews were bad because the buyer did not like their experience with the vendor they purchased from, who typically had absolutely nothing to do with Amazon or me.
