Not only does Finance campaign laws forbid this, the IRS would also be all up his ass if he claimed campaigning as business. Every cent spent on campaigning is accounted for and filed as campaign related costs and expenses. Its not rolled up under his Trump businesses at all.
He is spending less money because he is not spending any money to raise money via fundraisers. And he is getting free air time from all networks and press. He also has run a lean campaign office to date, but those costs will start to ramp up as he builds a bigger presence in the first 3 States to get out the vote.
