But he doesn't actually admit to having sex with her, even though he says he's in love with her, and she was with him. Then again, he doesn't deny it, or maybe I missed that sentence amongst the 5,000 others?

I skimmed it, but it rambles on and I didn't have time (or maybe the desire) to read it all today. It seems like you hit the nail on the head. He admits being in love with her and that he did some wrong things, but he makes it out like she is still lying, but that she probably "believes" she is telling the truth.
It sounds like he is going into all of this as if he is the victim and he will likely maintain that attitude as he serves his time and then when he gets out.
I won't be surprised to see him trying to get back in this business once he gets out of jail.
