Actually, it is mentioned, but there's no real detail beyond the girl plotting to frame McElfresh, nor is there Donny saying "it absolutely did not happen"

Also, Bethany had recently witnessed Allie pull something similar in order to get what she (Allie) wanted: when Chase, Allie?s boyfriend, was jailed on felony charges, her adopted father (Lewis) let Allie know that Chase would no longer be allowed to come around. Allie wrote to Chase while he was still in jail (a letter intercepted by Lewis) about how she had a plan on how they could still be together. On the day Chase got out of jail, Allie and Chase confronted Lewis with claims of an illegal, sexual nature. Lewis had always told me that one reason he rarely allowed teen girls to spend the night at his house was because he was afraid of one of them making such claims about him, as he?d seen people locked up first and questioned later, on too many occasions to count. And as a law enforcement officer, he?d be an even bigger target for being maimed or killed in jail than a person accused of sex crimes with minors. Allie knew this about her father (his fears of such claims): she?s the one who first told me about them, and I discussed the matter with Lewis before Bethany was ever allowed to spend the night over at their house. Knowing of his fears, Allie figured she could threaten Lewis with claims like this and force him to allow her and Chase to be together. And it worked exactly as she hoped."
This part a few sentences later sounds ominous... but it's still not really admitting anything.

But again, as I stated just a moment ago, some of what Bethany said in police reports is true, and some is not. I?ve taken responsibility for my actions and have confessed my sins to several different people, and have begged God to forgive me for the ways in which I failed."
