actually, the girl you are referring to, alyssa taylor, is just another student at that hs that was asked her opinion.
i am quite familiar with atascacita, i grew up on the other side of town from there and recall when it was first developed, as a lily white upscale village outside of houston. the demographics of each hs also, it's still 40+% white and the rival school is 40+% black.
and this isn't a nice gift basket that is thoughtfully filled with products the giver would enjoy, it's a required basket given to a very much rival football team hs.
i don't think it was given in mean-spirited kkk way, but i can certainly see the racial overtones.
