Good for you, but you may be over-exercising. I couldn't imagine doing 20 miles every day in addition to all the other things. Although, my area is very hilly so 20 miles feels like 40.

You must be taking in a lot of calories to not wither away.

But you're right about the long term goal thing. Most people have this mentality of always needing to "lose 10 pounds in a couple of weeks". They fuck their system up and are doomed to repeat it over and over. The trick is to condition your metabolism to prefer burning fat and building muscle, and that takes time. Once I got my body into that state, I've been realizing it would be hard work to actually undo it. Like I would have to stop exercising and eat donuts and ice cream for a few weeks or months.
