Long time board member is a thief, beware.

A long time member here has turned out to be a flat out thief. I posted on here back in May that I was looking for a partner for a profitable venture and he responded. I checked him out as much as I could on the boards and spoke to him extensively multiple times before I decided to bring him into my business. He signed a very clear cut contract and seemed eager to get started. Fast forward five months later and he took it upon himself to clean out the bank account and intercept all remaining payments. He left me holding the bag, unable to pay our people for their work and of course, cheating me out of money I was owed.

I have given him until today to do the right thing. Crickets. He doesn't want to give back the money he stole so he is ignoring me.

It?s amazing how when people screw you over, they concoct various reasons in their twisted mind for doing so ? this is what he has done. I followed the terms of our contract TO THE LETTER and he was paid every dime he was owed. Then the greed set in . . . He and his wife are heavy boozers and druggies, both with criminal records. I?ve had to advance them money to get their gas turned back on several times and he didn?t have five dollars when we first started to pay for a minor expense. Most of the time we spoke he slurred his words so badly I could barely understand him and his wife was most definitely high on something. Her mug shots look like she?s got a bad meth problem.

I will post his name shortly if he does not come through, I will be very surprised if he does. Lesson learned : Never do business with desperate, broke substance abusers. They will screw you in the end for their short term gain.
