Its been proposed to me that shooters and producers normally accept a lower rate for their work than the models they are shooting. Is this industry standard? It is news to me.

I am asking, for example, if you pay a model to do a hardcore scene for $800 you would accept say 20-30% less that fee for your work to hand over 100% unique content. So you would deliver a scene for say, $1200 or $1300 plus location and male talent costs.

Please post your experience on this. This is for guys who shoot regularly as "guns for hire".
The numbers above are just examples.
