The Internet has allowed people like this, that are really only a fraction of the population (10%, give or take), to find "friends" and other like-minded people that just fuel their sickness. Unfortunately, the rest of us that are somewhat normal respond emotionally because we are appalled and it only pushes them to fuel the fire more.

Yes true, but the Internet was invented in part for (by?) exactly these kind of people. LOL
The bigger problem are the "stable" ones freaking out over the "unstable" ones. Getting all offended by offensive people seems silly to me. Perhaps that's why my attitude is so cavalier on this forum. In real life I'm a sensitive, caring person 100%. But on the Internet sometimes it's all so surreal that wacky responses are often called for. To a point. LOL
Having said all that, I find it best to ignore the provokers as often as possible. Life is so much more pleasant that way.
