Amazon Sucks
Amazon took a good business model and fucked it.
Amazon and the other ebook sellers give a lot of authors, especially mystery writers a start. A start they wouldn't have gotten in the print days. Usually you can get the 1st or 1/2 of the 1st book for free, then if you like the author you can buy books at modest prices.
Amazon just produced the movie The Man in the High Castle. You get the first half free. It was great. But you have to spend $80 to join Prime to see the last half. I have no need for a Prime account. I'd gladly pay a reasonable amount to see the second half.
