Here's something that might have stopped Sayed and his wife from owning guns: a moratorium preventing any ME immigrant or anyone who has visited an ME country (outside official government visit) from owning guns. Or if that is too extreme, then simply a deeper vetting of such people who attempt to purchase guns.
Such a solution won't likely be 100% effective. But 100% effectiveness is not the standard by which to evaluate the validity of laws, otherwise no law would be valid. |
