I would've preferred the characters from The Clone Wars animated TV series (the best Star Wars thing outside the original movies). Especially Ahsoka Tano, the greatest Star Wars character invented outside the films. At least they had the sense to bring her back for the new Star Wars Rebels show (tho I hate the CGO "look" of that series' too much like a video game).
UPCOMING SPOILER ALERT: Rey is Kylo Ren's sister. I'll bet you a Wookie cookie that's the big reveal for the sequel.
