The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.
In '87, Huey released Fore!, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip To Be Square". A song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity and the importance of trends. It's also a personal statement about the band itself.

Well....I never associate the word 'artistically' with Huey Lewis. LOL I consider him to be the white Lionel Ritchie.
I'm more into Classic Rock. I lived through the eighties and that's when I started as a writer in the music biz. I interviewed Huey (great guy!) and also Phil Collins (also very cool guy). But my tastes were very 1975, even back then. But I can appreciate the professionalism and the overall sound of that time period, and 'Sports' was certainly in my album collection.

Back To The Future helped Huey a lot, too.
Ahh good times. I feel so old now. LOL
