I know Jeffrey Way is all about it! I signed up for his laracasts site to check it out, I told him I'd sign up to his site if he followed me on Twitter, which he did.
Laravel has certainly taken off and seems to be 2x as popular as 2nd place PHP framework.
PHP 7 offers up to 2x performance in some instances.
