The word porn appears to have changed its meaning

The word porn appears to have changed its meaning | Wouj Webmaster Site

Over the last 5 years or so, it seems that the word porn has become more mainstream. Its usage no longer applies singularly towards the act of nudity and sex. In the media almost each day the word porn has been added on to words such as food, to give us food porn.

Porn now seems to have developed a new meaning. This being that porn now represents populism, or popular culturer. So such as food porn it now appears to mean popular imagery of food. Such is the general use of the word 'porn' in the media, is that almost anything that has become popular, especially on the internet has the rem porn tagged onto it.

Porn itself (as in nudity) has itself become mainstream. We see celebs now each day posting there own nude photographs. Its become such a mainstream activity that should a very well known celebrity show her boobs or front bottom, its not even noticed. It certainly does not end the celebrities carea. If anything, it simply increases her (or his) social media presence.

Such as things are going, it would be more than likely within the next ten years that we will see almost all celebrities not only show there rude bits but one suspects that they may post films of themselves in full sex. Though probably done in an arty way.

For such as Rihanna or Miley Cyrus, it is now expected to see them nude. But indeed it is to be fair to them, not that shocking.

We also see many well known figures now chat openly about seeing porn. Many say what porn tube sites they use. This is a huge change in society, as if you went back to 1980's in the UK, porn was seen to be only for the 'perverted', and dirty old men.

This sort of leads on to what porn is to me.

For some of you dear readers may know I shoot all the content for my site BhalaSada.com. You may say its a porn site, but I do not. For me it's personal. I shoot many friends. What I shoot perhaps I could describe best as art or indeed a form of religion or self help. I say art, as although what the content is, is not well shot or anything, but when I shoot I lose myself in my camera. Its almost like the world no longer exists. I say religion because it does feel like I have people bearing there souls to me (and those who watch). By this I mean you see real honesty, the real them. As a child I was dragged to church, but I would observe how people pretended. They pretended to be somthing they really were not while in church. Yet I feel those I shoot give all of themselves, they hide nothing. By going nude they no longer have anything to hide from anyone. Indeed (and a reason I also say self help) they gain confidence from doing so.

But because I find my 'work' so personal, I cannot bow down to the government of the UK and say its fine for them to regulate my content. Because it's the same as saying they should regulate art and indeed regulate religion. To me my work is as sacred as anyones religious beliefs. For many, I suspect they will not understand that. I do not expect them to, nor indeed do I care if they do or do not.
