Setting aside all of the political noise....
We need to re-define the "natural born citizen" issue. I believe in order to be a natural born citizen you must be born in the United States, with no exceptions. If you are born outside of the United States to an American citizen, you can naturalized but you should not automatically be considered a natural born citizen. I also believe that being born within the United States should be a basic requirement for being President.
I don't believe McCain should be eligible to be president. He was born on a United States military base in Panama. Ted Cruz also should not be eligible to be president - He was born in Canada. (It's stunning to me that a member of the United States Congress had dual citizen in another country!)
This has nothing to do with politics for me, it's just plain common sense and should apply to all countries - In order to be a leader of a country, the very basic requirement should be having been born in the country. Hitler was born in Austria yet became the leader of Germany - This shouldn't be possible.
In all fairness, I believe as the law stands right now Ted Cruz has the legal right to run for President and if he wins assume office. However, I believe our Constitution should be changed to make being born within US borders a basic requirement to be President.
