The rule of thumb is never use their "Domainsbyproxy" bullshit. Because like you said, it's a royal pain in the ass because you have to jump through hoops to get it removed or sometimes it stays stuck in locked and you can't get access to your domain. But you already know this.

Right you are, the Godaddy scam doesn't work if Canadians just do that. It's stupid as hell for them to try to jack Canadians but doesn't see how it easy it is for Canadians to go around it and just switch from CAD to US currency to get the cheaper price.
