From personal experience:
The default theme 2014 works wonders SEO wise. It scored 56.5 out of 100.
A theme I contorted into what I need scores 52 out of 100 and I have many #1's in Google using it.
So that plugin is pure shit and won't help you at all.
If you want to rank, just use 2014 if you have no knowledge of how to play with themes.
