And both of their campaigns have caught fire largely because of the first two reasons you listed.
Additionally:
- They both oppose TPP and the other trade deals.
- They've both spoken out strongly against offshoring jobs.
- The Koch brothers clearly hate both of them.
- The were both against the 2003 Iraq war.
- Neither of them wants to pick a fight with Putin in Syria.
- Neither of them is a bible thumper.
But perhaps most importantly:
They both claim to view the so called economic "new normal" as a totally and utterly unacceptable state of affairs.
Of course their campaigns have caught fire.
And in the event that
both of them are nominated, the electability questions will cancel each other out.
