I have a fifteen year old old daughter and I am thrilled to death to be a part of her daily life. I am involved in every aspect of her life and it's been utterly magical - watching a child grow up from a little peanut to someone who drives and has sophisticated musical tastes and has her college life all planned out. If you suddenly told me I had to pay $1600 a month and was only able to see her for four hours every other week and had limited rights in raising her, well, I would be completely pissed off.
This is exactly why we have deadbeat dads - their children are taken away from them and they get a bill to pay. Fuck that.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. Separating sucks, and children/parents suffer. Parents should put their children's feelings first but knowing from experience separating in my 20's with children, we don't always put their feelings first. It becomes a battle of our own selfishness because we think our love is more important than the other parents love. It's really not.
Separating in my 40's with a soon to be 8 year old, I do put my daughters feelings first and would never ever want to go through a custody battle. If my husband chose to stay in the same state as us, he could see her every single day of her life. She's as much his as she is mine. Unfortunately he chose Colorado because it's better than New Jersey and so I imagine they will see each other once a year if that as time goes. Such is life.
If Denise Richards was REMARRIED - would she still expect Sheen to get her a new place? Not likely. But because she remains single, he remains on the line where she can just reel him in anytime she likes. That's just fucked up.
