Speak any language you want, but don't get pissed when you can't complete a transaction because the other person doesn't speak your language. If you want to assimilate, learn the language. If not, and you want to have a social circle made up of your natural language speakers, that's fine. Just don't expect the locals to learn your language, or get upset when they can't understand you.
