here in CZ more and more people speak English but in general I agree completely with what you say

I do speak some basics, mostly enough for restaurants and supermarkets. But I have employees that I can take with me for translation, an English speaking accountant and quite a few Czech and Slovak friends that speak either English or German.
I only blame myself for not learning more and since I do not see myself moving away from here, I will tackle this issue someday
