Apparently the horse-drawn carriage drivers rebelled with the same arguments back in the day, when automobile taxis started appearing.
"We know the city", "Proper service", "Stealing our living" etc.
Passengers thought that the coachmen were rude, smelly, and often overcharged for fares.
We can all see who won. :-)
