I believe he has done well.
The economy was by far the most important issue. This was our lowest point since the Great Depression. People were loosing their jobs and their houses. My community was hit really hard; We were the fastest growing city in the country from 2000-2010 with a 280% increase (
Lincoln, California) so we had lots of new, crappy loans. Building projects just stopped including a huge condo complex and multiple businesses that were half built, stopped, and eventually town down. Our city government was on a massive upswing, building fire stations and hiring police officers, new roads, etc... Everything came grinding to a halt and entire sections of our city here were deserted.
What we needed with the economy was a slow and steady hand, and some smart decisions. And that's what we got with Obama.
It was unfair that Obama got blasted and blamed for the economy when he didn't cause it and was trying to fix it. Yet still today some people believe things are "horrible" although we have a 5% unemployment rate. This has gotten nasty with the other side just cherry picking bad stats and hitting on that.
The economy is by far the most important thing for us. The rest is blah.
Healthcare - Hasn't had much of an effect on me. I had healthcare before, and I have the same exact healthcare now. It went up a bit, but, it was going to go up no matter what. It does every year. More people than ever before have healthcare, so it seems Obamacare is really working. Our government needs to invest it's time in fixing what is wrong, not trying to get rid of it.
Iran - Whatever. If Iran had nukes in the morning it doesn't change anything. Russia, China, India, and Pakistan all have nuclear weapons and it hasn't changed a damn thing. So who the fuck cares? If Iran launches any kind of a nuclear attack, their entire country would become a glass parking lot instantly.
Iraq/Afghanistan - Our military performed flawlessly, but we were stuck in two never ending wars. Our military cannot be used as a decades long occupation force. Time for us to leave.
The politics has changed in Washington DC. It's no longer about doing the right thing, it's about beating the other side. This is wrong.
