Before Obamacare... an individual plan $100-$125 a month, $15 co-pay, $300 deductible.
After Obamacare kicked in... $290 a month, $50 co-pay, $6500 deductible.
Sure, those who still have their same plan before Obamacare kicked in, haven't seen a difference. It is very easy to say, "Its great and its working." Yes, there are more people insured now, because if your not, you pay a 10% percent penalty on your taxable income.
The ONLY good thing about this, is that people who have serious health issues that are going to go over $6500 in medical bills in a year, will see their responsibilities capped. Then there are those who have pre-existing conditions who couldn't get covered before, can now get coverage, and won't get dropped.
However there is still a huge demographic of people that are getting royally screwed by this. Miss the deadlines? Your fucked. Because the plans that are left over for those who miss deadlines, still have clause against pre-existing conditions, where you will NOT get covered, and if even if you somehow do get on one of those plans, there is about 20 pages of shit that will not pay for, which covers, or should I say does NOT cover, just about everything.
Obamacare has created a new demographic of people who still cannot afford health coverage, where they could have before it kicked in.
