The first big problem of this whole idea of "black history" is that the discussion always defaults to achievement rather than history. George Washington Carver is just a guy who did a lot with peanuts. It's not "black history" anymore than anyone doing anything represents the history or an entire race.
And has been pointed out, saying "hey, here's a list of stuff we've done as a race" is bizarre as it Implies that otherwise, achievements of that race are few and far between and not to be expected.
This is the year 2016. There is no racism in the USA. There is no widely held belief that one race will never be able to be good at math or flying a plane or playing baseball because of their race. Further, as you move up the black socioeconomic ladder, and education, cried if "racism" start to really fade. The loudest bunch are always those at the very bottom, seeking to lay blame rather than accord responsibility and work hard to take control of their own fate and build a better life for their children.
For example, the two black guys talking non stop about racism are the two poorest black guys on this forum. That's not a coincidence, it's just an example of how weak these two people are as human beings. What doesn Neil.Degrasse Tyson have to say about race? Nothing. It's itrelevant to education, work ethic and achievement.
All we have now is an endless litany of assholes crying about "racism" without even understanding the meaning of the word and working hard to make issues about race and racism when they aren't.
I say that we should all strive to make a real difference and start a "stop black on black murser month" or "stick around and parent your child month" and stop talking in feel good sound bites and stop blaming a non existent problem and start tackling the issues and dealing with them for what they are.
