I didn't have a TV in my room til I was 16 and could buy it myself.
None of my kids have had a TV in their room. My almost 18 year old is the first one to get a TV just this past xmas for her bedroom.
They've just never needed or asked for them.
3 year old having a TV in their room is insane.
