This is truly sad and frustrating to me.
Fucking Locals was started well over a year ago and was very well received by everyone who attended the multiple events. Other than mtlxnights which no longer existed when FL was started there was no other organized local gatherings.
I'm not running a business, quite the contrary, so far I've been out of pocket for each event and have encouraged those who attended to bring any marketing or promotional material they desired. Fucking Locals was started and continues to be a community event, no sponsors, just friends and colleagues that enjoy getting together and should they get exposure and business, amazing!
Before planning the most recent event I spoke to many of those that attend past events to see when the best time was for this event and Thursday the 11th was the date that worked best for everyone. The fact any of you think this was in any way deliberate to screw over Michel is extremely insulting, I attend his events, the company I work for gets a booth at Qwebec, why you're trying to make it seem like I'm doing something bad when all I'm doing is something nice is quite hurtful... especially when you say something very different to me in private.
I realize the 2 events are only a week apart, but they are very, very different. I'm planning a simple Thursday night 5 a 7, Michel is doing a Friday daytime excursion which seems quite fun and I'd attend but I will be working. They are very very different, I doubt people need to choose between them, many can't get out during the week, others can't Friday and weekends.
I started Fucking Locals well before there was a Qnights and will continue as long as there is interested in them. I'm sorry if this upsets the sponsors of Qnights and Michel, you're all welcome to set up any banners at any and all FL events so you don't feel like you're losing out in some way.

Being a sponsor in the Qwebec events, I feel a unnecessary need for an other event, especially planned ONE WEEK before.
The fishing day was an idea, many more ideas are being thrown out there to make sure this event stands out and accommodate as many people as necessary.
Not sure again what is to gain for having this event.
Might be to piss off Michael, but I think it's pissing off the people sponsoring Qwebec.

But as a paying sponsor of Qnights, I can see how the FuckingLocals event kind of screws things up now. I want people to come to the events that I sponsor to talk about potential new business of course.
I didn't realize that both events were so close together until JFK pointed it out. Today I've talked to a few people that say they only have the time to attend Qnights OR FuckingLocals, but not both. This hurts attendances to both events and reduces the value of sponsorship to people like me.
