I had the oddest possible realization about the OEM today...

I've had the Old English Mastiff for going on 5 years... it's been rocky and odd... the OEM is Not like any dog I've ever had or ever met. After that last emotional distress in our relationship I did some research as well as getting advice from GFY.

First and foremost the OEM has been a war dog for 5000 years and house pet for maybe 80 or 120 years at most.... the OEM is not a house pet... my dog is a war dog, constantly on edge, almost like a mild meth paranoia. People that have met Killer will say "What a beautiful dog, then a bit later.. kinda weird???"

Once I was able to understood how the reality was playin out we, myself and Killer were able to get in stride emotionally and spiritually. It's great.

How Old English Mastiff behaviorism are linked to breeding. My dog doesn't bite...

I've seen the poor guy extremely threatened in the back of my SUV when a guy I was chatting with reached his hand in to meet the dog. Killer lunged forward, bumped the guys hand with his nose, backed into the corner snapping and growling. I've seen this happen a few times when the poor guy is caught off guard.

When Killer is dead serious about taking someone down it's always the same play. Runs around behind the guy, jumps for the collar, to drag the man to the ground.

There is one guy, works for the property management, when he come's around Killer goes ballistic. Killer really hates LOL!! And this guy does not give one fuck!! Killer's running around behind the guy, jumping up try to grab his shirt, as the poor guy walks along ignoring him... LOL!! I've also seen Killer display this action with a few drivers.. I grip him real quick and the drivers think he's playing around ... hahahahaha

now how does this tie in to the breeding... ? This lineage plays heavily into the modern Old English Mastiff...

"When in 1415 Sir Peers Legh was wounded in the Battle of Agincourt, his Mastiff stood over and protected him for many hours through the battle. The Mastiff was later returned to Legh's home and was the foundation of the Lyme Hall Mastiffs. Five centuries later this pedigree figured prominently in founding the modern breed"

so here's this.... what the fuck would a Knight in Amour fighting other Knight's in Amour need a fucking dog that bites LOL!!! A knight needs a BIG fucking dog that can knock another Knight to the ground until they can kill the fucker... thoughts???
