For those who are not professionals there are many alternatives that will do...but for use pros there is no substitute for Photoshop.

Yea, that's what I was saying, for pros's it's an awesome deal, but for someone like me that just likes to play around or maybe do a small graphic every once in a while it's a no go..
I'd like to keep up with photoshop and learn illustrator, but it's not worth paying $400/year for those two programs.
