I got mine today and at first glance its fucking amazing...but as I played with it some things jumped out at me

first it causes the phone to overheat constantly requiring letting it rest to cool down...oud think theyd have put a small fan in it or something to alleviate that problem, which pretty much everyone seems to have

second the resolution just isnt that great, the phosphor dots are very evident on the screen giving it the look of an old large monitor and as you watch the video it looks more like 256x256 than 1990x1080 I use a Galaxy S6 BTW, the more motion in the video the less apparent the low quality is

what was amazing to me is just how immersive a well done video is, its truly amazing and I can certainly see a future for VR that crosses many lines, way more than just porn, inspecting property or factories, virtual walkthroughs, simulators of all kinds, education I mean there are LOTS of posibilities

anyone got any apps or anything that can make a quick and easy 3d photo from a single 2D photo? i realize thats kind of a tall order but it would seem that its pretty doable with some dialogue screens that maybe produce a depth map or something.

I also used a web browser that samsung has for it that could be an interesting way to view certain websites....and the google earth app is pretty neat, it would be interesting if you could actually drive a virtual car with it....

Anyway if you have a g6 and a hundred bucks this is certainly worth it if only for a glimpse into the future
