I still don't understand why people focus on Chicago's murder rate so much. The city doesn't even break the top 100 in murders per capita for the US. People just focus on the total number of murders like that's some relevant readout of safety. Also, if you take out a small number of neighborhoods on the South/West side the city is actually pretty safe.
