Most people like to think they are decent non-prejudice human beings (even though prejudice is hardwired into us through hundreds of thousands of years of life.) We like the idea of somebody else running through a "supposed dangerous place" and proving that it's not dangerous at all. Hugs and kisses. The tune changes when it's our own kids.
Always fun and games when it's "somebody else's responsibility," but when it comes down to the person doing the ranting putting their skin in the game, the stories change very very fast.
War, education, working 60 hour work weeks, healthcare, taxes. Everyone always wants the other guy to do the bitch work while they sit safely on the sidelines preaching about what is right and wrong as if they would be willing to do it themselves, yet when it comes down to doing something down and dirty, they run for the hills.
Couch quarterbacking.

Guys like "Suckonthis" have lived clearly sheltered lives. They have this mixed up Utopian world view where everyone is best friends. To him the world all gets together harmoniously like at his local Starbucks to sip Lattes and chat about trending topics.
He is the type of guy to take an Egyptology course and parade around how he is an expert in the country without ever setting foot within inside it.
His large trips include traveling to Mexico, never taking a step outside the resort and return telling everyone how many "lies" there are about Mexico on TV and everything is just "peachy".
His type will always find some reasoning no matter how insane to stop his little Utopian mentality from being effected. "She was raped..... only because the guy needed a cell phone!".
His world views are a complete joke to anyone who has an ounce of real life experience.
