i had a similar tragedy over a decade ago.
my partner on a bunch of paysites died (cancer).
i was the developer/webmaster,
he was the content producer/buyer,
so i shut the network down and launched my cms.
if i had died, my postmortem suggestion to him would be:
find a good cms so you can focus on content and marketing.
