If an average Serb earns $300 a month, he can do 30 MRI for that money. Right? The MRI price in the USA is $2,700. What's the average salary in the US? How much you should earn to afford the same that a regular Serb can have for his money? $81,000 USD a month? According to this simple logic course I will prefer Serbia over the USA.
I didn't live in Serbia, so I'll better speak for my country. In other thread I have explained why a person here who earns $1000 a month has more money in his pocket (actually he simple keeps all $1000) than a person who earns $5000 in the States. I'm talking about cash after all mandatory payments (obamacare, taxes, etc). Now add to this a huge difference in purchasing power. After financial crisis, I can afford here much more than in the USA for the same amount of dollars. This does not apply to medicine only. This applies to almost everything. E.g. some clown from Florida has made a new shower room and he has spent almost 10x more money than me (that's a coincidence, but I also got a new shower room last autumn). And I believe that my shower room is better than his (course it's a matter of taste). How come? That's because I've paid much less than him to the workers, I've saved on transportation etc. Also I pay much less for water, electrics etc.
