That's because it was Soviet Union and our sport club had not enough ear protectors for everybody. Those were very hard times actually. That's why I'm kidding on the new generation and call them pussies

BTW, I still have a 100% hearing, but I've got a slight nearsightedness when was shooting with a rifle (I hate guns with diopter sights after that) in a not well lighten shooting gallery when I was a teenager. I wish I was shooting in the modern Russian groceries instead ;)
