I used to feel that way when I was younger and you could fix anything on your own car in minutes with cheap ass parts as I ran my own auto shop. Now that I'm older, income has risen and parts ain't as cheap or easy to get shit apart my last (3) were brand new, latest new one got it about 6 months ago. Nice to not have to worry about any problems and have a full warranty. Key is ya gotta buy something with high resale value so ya still get your money back. I traded my last one in after 5 years with only 40k on it since I live in the city and everything is close and I keep it clean they always give me more than the top price on KBB.com as they still drive/look new when I dump them. Last 2 for me were Honda.
