There are thousands of black men and women behind bars for non-violent drugFuray offenses, but so far jail has been viewed as too harsh a punishment for a white Texas girl found not only with drugs, but scales as well.
Sarah Furay, 19, was found with heroin, cocaine, LSD, marijuana, and methamphetamine, as well as packing materials and two digital scales, according to the Death and Taxes blog.
Furay was arrested and let go hours later after posting $39,000 bail.
