What exactly has "gone to shit"? Our economy is doing better, unemployment is 4.9%, our soldiers aren't dying in an endless and needless war, we are bombing ISIS on a daily basis, and the terrorists haven't attacked us.

I know I am overly optimistic and see the world through rose tinted lenses.... but what exactly is shitty?
