Maybe, but where do you live? New home builds vary wildly from one location to another. Here in Laval (near Montreal) new houses are going up and its expanding, but in Alberta they are building very little thanks to the local (ish) economy. I don't think its fair to use what you see out your window as a basis for the whole country.

Don't forget about the huge sub-prime mortgage thing. They used to give easy mortgages to people who could not afford them. Now that this is has stopped (sort of, ugh) you would normally see less new homes being built.

That's true. While there are lots of new jobs in the US there are still way too many going overseas.
And ok. We didn't have this many tube sites ripping off our content before 2008. THANKA OBAMA!
