While i'm not some big PIS fan to begin with - the current Gov't did not CREATE the national debt. They were in opposition for 8 years, and only in power for I think 2 years before that. As for stuff like 500+ program, I have 2 kids and can take it for one of them only because my income is too high. I don't need the money and it won't make a lick of difference in my life, but it's a free $1500USD/year so why not. In most cases though with lower income families, this money isn't going to go into a savings account or vanished - it will be spent. VAT will be paid, income tax will be paid, etc. It goes back into the economy.
