A lot of sellers have been asked to hike there selling price to help cover the shipping costs as Amazon is losing its shirt on the Prime deal.
Also a lot of items are now cheaper elsewhere, heres an example. I purchased 32oz bottle Braggs Organic Cider Vinegar for $12.99 on Amazon before checking local prices. I later found the local supermarket selling the exact same item for $5.99. My fault for not checking but after getting a reputation for great pricing Amazon are now increasing pricing to help them make a profit and hoping customer don't notice !!

Retailing 101, get a customer base and after you have them increase prices. Sure, some will leave but most will not. Man is a creature of habit.
This applies to both the amazon prime service as well as good sold.
