Probably because you have never been to America or needed hospital care that you have paid a lot of money for.
I went one year with a gammy knee, which after a fall became very bad. So went to hospital, showed them my private travel insurance and got whisked in and got the best treatment my money could buy. The insurance cost around $100 for 3 weeks cover. $1,700 for a year at that rate.
On the downside. My Brother found it cheaper to fly t the UK for surgery, my Mother sent him to Mexico to buy her insulin and my Father got tip top care and open heart surgery when he was covered by insurance. A year later he had an Aneurysm was whisked to a hospital that had no facility to treat him. They had a helicopter which is why the medics took him there, so he could be airlifted to the right hospital.
Instead, they started doing tests they could charge for. The delay meant he died in that hospital.
